The Marriage of Bette and Boo

by Christopher Durang

Directed by Perry T. Schwartz

WITH Katie Atkinson, Gerald B. Browning, William C. Cook, Joe Cronin, Mary C. Davis, Bill Gordon, Martha Karl, Ellen Mansueto, David Rothman and Mundy Spears

Wicked and dazzling.  Thirty years of divorce, alcoholism, madness and death in a wacky family world flipped inside out.  Durang's own past fuels this wild, personal Glass Menagerie.

"A deeply moving piece, at times both heartwhelmingly poignant and uproaringly funny.  A delight to see."

Audience reactions to

The Marriage of Bette and Boo

                                     by Christopher Durang

"Superb acting.  Enjoyed it very much."  June 5, 2008

"We just wanted to write to tell you how much we enjoyed The Marriage of  Bette  and Boo at the Black Box Theatre last night.

"The acting was phenomenal.  The sets and staging were ingenious.  The        play was truly dark as well as laugh-out-loud funny.  With such wacky characters, it's amazing that Christopher Durang's play is         autobiographical!"

-- Karen and Aron Primack   June 5, 2008

"The actors all did a superb job. How they could keep from breaking      character while I and others howled in the audience is a miracle of the          acting craft I will never understand. The set too was marvelous; I don’t          know how this company does it without money. This is not establishment bourgeois theater for the upper crust; it’s always on the edge, and you      should show up to support it."
